Bellissimo Lawyers Studio Legale Principal, Frank Bellissimo has handled Insurance cases since 1995. He has also worked for the largest CTP insurer in New South Wales, handling motor accident claims, and understands both sides of personal injury litigation.

Matthew Drain


Matthew Drain is a lawyer practising in the Sydney CBD Office of Bellissimo Lawyers.

Career History Prior to becoming a lawyer

Matthew has worked in Executive and Senior Management roles for fifteen years in elite sport and business. With business and elite sporting organisation experience he had to manage people in high pressure environments and changing situations to deliver results.

Matthew worked at AMP in Melbourne and Sydney from 1988 to 1997 in an executive role as National Contract Manager.

At 28 Matthew was appointed Football Operations Manager of the Essendon Football Club from late 1997 to the end of 2002. This included the 2000 AFL premiership, which is the most games won in an AFL season.

Then as High Performance Manager at Cricket Australia, Matthew managed the transition and decision from the Cricket Academy to become the Centre of Excellence.

Matthew returned to AFL football as High Performance Manager at the Western Bulldogs in from late 2004 to 2007, making their first finals appearances in a decade.

Matthew finalised his AFL management career General Manager of Football/List Manager at the St Kilda Football Club (2007-2010), which included three Grand Final appearances.

Matthew continued in his consulting role to an AFL club and whilst studying and prior to joining our team at Bellissimo Lawyers he worked for Victoria Police and in the education system, understanding the needs of young people and the community.

Matthew is well equipped as a Solicitor to understand people, their needs and wants and to deliver results to our clients.
